A Thanksgiving Ditty for the Poetically and Thankfully Challenged

One day for Thanks is not enough;
Your turn will come – you’ll bluff with fluff,
then list some things – like family, health,
While gratitude for else lies stealth

But listing all would cool the food
And soon the sense of shifting mood
Would turn the “thanks” to “wasted time”
(I’m sure that turkey tastes sublime)

Instead, let’s practice other ways
of being thankful all our days
If rhyming couplets ease the chore
I’ve done my job –
Now you do more…
