A Wake in the Night

Even in darkness,
The traveled path
Is marked.

We are now.
We are tomorrow.
We are no longer there.

But
Ripples
Effect.

On certain evenings,

Earth’s age-old
Satellite
Will catch
A slice of wake

And illuminate

A past particle of
Indescribable
Beauty.

Wait on the moon
When you
Wake in the
Night.

    <smile> “Ripples never come back” is a line from a favourite Genesis song titled, appropriately, Ripples. 🙂

    If you’re not familiar with it, I think you’d like the lyrics, at least. They reverb on some of the themes you’re vibing here.

    Which is a marvelous take on wakes, btw. ❤
