I sit and stare at stars ablaze
my mind in awe and wonder plays
a symphony of sight – no sound
as silent fires above abound
although they burn, infernos bright
no thunder for my ears – just sight
all noise in vacuum, swallowed whole
instead, fire’s music in my soul
they twinkle, sparkle, glimmer, wink
without them, night as dark as ink
my heart beats slowly in the glow
a pulse the only sound and so
the listening ears inside me deep
behold their sounds but cannot keep
the whoosh and roar from eons past
from fading into day at last
for my new blogger/poet friend, Chado
I love the octo-syllable form here. Beautiful.

“silent fires above abound,” creating “whoosh and roar from eons past.” Magnificent!

Beautifully descriptive. Your poem well conveys the silent wonder of stargazing, and I could feel myself beneath the starry heavens in awe. I look forward to reading more of your captivating and lyrical work.
