defying atrophy

the faerie tale bowl

light.
captured,
corralled,
by hammered hexagons
in a bowl of spun gold.

hear it.
humming,
buzzing,
brimming with potential energy
somehow already kinetic.

see it.
escaping,
apprehended again,
by hungry eyes
and impoverished hearts

all who partake
are enriched.
awakened from enchanted sleep.
finding their princes charming.
And Living Happily Ever After.

yet the bowl remains
just as full
of golden magic
and light
as when we started.
