Recalling
those who died.
Died.
so I can have Life
as I do.
As you do.
As we do.
I remember an uncle,
who left this earth
as I arrived.
August 1968
in a jungle
on the earth’s
flipside
an enemy
took out his copter
as he
attempted
to
rescue
stranded
friends
rescuing stranded friends.
That
is what today
is about
No matter the war
No matter the cause
No matter the friends
They paid the price
for all friends
now living
May our friendships
persevere
in the face of
any
and all
hardships.
As did theirs.
