The prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “contains ‘igh.’” Find a word that contains the letters “igh” in that order and use it in your post. Enjoy!
A sigh draws nigh as I weigh the fight
high and tight would be a sight
but higher and tighter might be right
the mighty knight might take flight
the horse dismayed will neigh away
daylight frightens, anchors aweigh
way too bright – I lighk the night
away aweigh
knight night
lighk
lighk
lighk
sometighms Igh just don’t get it.
This was a fascinating free write for me. I cheated (a little) and pulled up a page of words with “igh” and just started writing with whatever words grabbed me. By the third or fourth line, I felt like I’d forgotten to spell, and all of the words started looking ridiculous, especially once I started mixing “I” sounds with “Ay” sounds. Hence, “lighk” and “Igh”. English is a crazy language.
It was fun. Hope you enjoyed the romp.
#SoCS comes from the website of Linda G. Hill.
Here are the rules:
1. Your post must be stream of consciousness writing, meaning no editing (typos can be fixed), and minimal planning on what you’re going to write.
2. Your post can be as long or as short as you want it to be. One sentence – one thousand words. Fact, fiction, poetry – it doesn’t matter. Just let the words carry you along until you’re ready to stop.
Igh lighked your wrighting. 🙂
