The Roller Coast

We can’t get enough
of
The Coasters.

The anxious thrill of the Climb
with the clack clack clack clack
of the Cogs
which keep us from

Sliding Backwards

Those Breathless
seconds of suspense at the Top
No longer Rising
but not
yet

Then the rush as we
Plunge and
stomachs rise in
our
throats
in unison

Some of us vomit.
It happens.

Exhilaration
Panic
Joy

Get us the Fuck off
this ride

Twists
Turns
Loops

Even Upside Down

As we Lurch
to a Stop
and unsteadily
weave our way down the ramp,

we Coast
back into the Queue
to Ride
Again.

And we wouldn’t have it
any other way.

Because we know

We are Safe.

The Chance of dying on a roller coaster:
One in Seven Hundred Fifty Million

We have a better Chance of winning the Powerball.
A much better Chance.

Any
Fear
here
is
Misplaced.

So
We
Keep
Riding.
