Free, bound soldiers march
My pace set by their footfalls
We advance as one.
One should not presume,
Who’s never been the hunted
Which moves they should make.
Will the Bruises heal?
Black and Blue becoming
Colors of justice.
Justice will flow down
Like the prophet said it would
A mighty river.
River that brings life
Not a drowning flood of blood
Let the hatred go.
Go and make your peace
Lay your weapons at their feet
And find perfect rest.
Rest for captives freed
Then caged by men their equals
Brothers meant to be.
Be your colors true
Though our hues endure all days
They need not define.
Define the true path
A way made straight by our God
Who sets us all free.
Free, bound soldiers march
My pace set by their footfalls
We advance as one.
Thanks for the simple prompt: “justice”, from Frank Tassone.
Fantastic! The third stanza gave me chills. So, so well done, and a remarkable photo too.

No worries. The link remains the same; it still works from ML.
