groundhog day(s)

Imagine you woke up and every day
was the worst one you’d lived through
in every way

In mine, I’d be losing a job that I love
and fearing my wife
would soon give me the shove

Jobless, alone, what the hell would I do?
If I lived just that ONE day
all hope I’d eschew.

But that day led onward to one of the best
If I hadn’t lived through it
would I pass the test?

Would I get to wake up to the day of all days?
Over and over
in wonderful ways?

In some ways I do wake to both of those scenes
every damned morning
like trusty machines

Each day lives inside all the days lived before
Both the bad and the good
you can never ignore.

Frank’s challenge this week: Here is a groundhog theme challenge. Start with a day of your life that you would never ever want to live through again, then end with a day of your live that you could repeat forever and ever.”

I’m not sure I totally followed the rules, but I’m not unhappy with the outcome.
