of Desired Destination

We’ll now never get There from Here

As if there had been
a Chance
of anything other than
Here
in the first place.

Since There can’t get Here

Perhaps we could go
with you now

to the Someplace
You wanted us to Become?

Instead,

Hopes are crushed
in cruel climax
as the blades of a
cruel
religious
regime

hack at our hands

as we cling
to the gear
of a far-flying transport
for which
we weren’t given a ticket.
