A peaceful path perchance yet stranger

The road from here is rocky danger
And when we reach the end – who knows?
A peaceful path perchance yet stranger

The Christ’s a trail to cross from manger
One graced in glory – pierced with woes
The road from here is rocky danger

Suppose that God’s the great Arranger;
Sets in motion violent throes…
A peaceful path perchance yet stranger?

Some days I fancy Self a “Changer”
In control of where life goes…
The road from here is rocky danger

“Beware the high seas” cries the Ranger
Icy wind from nowhere blows
A peaceful path perchance yet stranger

I wish not for a life exchanger
Clear passage through I might oppose
The road from here is rocks and danger
A peaceful path perchance yet stranger
