Unopened doors in neverending halls / I know I have the choice to alter clime
The road from here is rocky danger /
And when we reach the end – who knows? / A peaceful path perchance yet stranger
The merits of mere stasis we extol / As if the middle ground’s a magic tool / Why seek to steer what moves beyond control? / We try to hold it still, then watch it roll…
Now hoarfrost melts to liquid dew agleam
I’ve checked the flights from here to there, / And there to here, of course (of course!) / I’m sighing, and my Soul’s laid bare.
No more does night descend with dread. Who knew you’d light a lamp when asked? I fall into your arms widespread; ‘Tis time to see my head and heart be wed.
