lovely warble,
but anything
can be annoying
when it’s loud
and
nearly
constant.
Then suddenly
the singing was done,
and the job
was
feeding
the
children.
Now the children
are adult size
but the parents
still
feed
them.
and still,
no singing.
or very
very
little.
Too tired to sing?
Sometimes the work at hand
is more important
than the things that bring
the most joy
but there is joy
nonetheless
it just may be harder to hear
and take longer to find.
